Welcome to the new blog site for Kevin Doyle. You may know Kevin as the star of the hugely successful stage show The Elvis Presley Story and RTE television’s Christmas with the King. He is embarking on a new project, performing hits made famous on stage and screen, live in concert. The show is timed to coincide with the launch of his forthcoming album, Doyle sings Hollywood and Broadway, due out in March 20th.
To kick off this new chapter in his career, Kevin Doyle will perform at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin on Saturday 4th April, backed by a full live band with strings, a brass section and a choir. This ‘debut’ concert to mark his new departure will boast the production values of a theatre show, set in the intimate surroundings of the Olympia.
As the name suggests it will feature hits from movies and musicals, hand picked by Doyle. The show builds to a great finish with Kevin leading more than 20 musicians and singers on stage through some of the most famous songs ever, including music from the likes of Stand By Me, Midnight Cowboy, Les Miserables, Against All Odds and The Lion King.
Commenting on the announcement of the concert, Kevin said: “I’m excited about this new project and really looking forward to being on stage and performing them in front of an audience. Obviously, knowing the Olympia so well I’m delighted that this new direction in my career is getting its start here, where I’ve had so many great nights before. Hopefully the songs I’ve chosen for this time around will surprise people and show them a side of me that maybe they haven’t seen before.”
Tickets for the concert on Saturday 4th April are on sale at the Olympia Box Office and from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide. Click here to purchase them now>>
